📖 About Us

🌱 Clarkston Farm (not to be confused with Clarkston Family Farm) is a sustainable farm, in Clarkston MI, inspired by traditional French farming methods from the late 1800s. Our approach is simple: grow high-quality food without toxic pesticides, herbicides, or synthetic fertilizers. 

What began as a vision over 20 years ago turned into reality when the farm was established on carefully selected land. From the beginning, our focus has been on hard work, sustainability, and producing nutrient-dense food for our community.

While we are not certified organic, our practices meet or exceed organic standards—because we believe in growing food the right way, not the easiest way. 

 

🌍 Our Farming Philosophy

We believe in feeding the soil—not the plant.

Healthy soil creates a thriving ecosystem of microorganisms, and those organisms naturally provide nutrients to the crops. That’s why we practice no-till farming.

Tilling disrupts and damages that living system. By avoiding it, we’ve seen incredible results—including a 50% reduction in pest pressure.

No-till isn’t for everyone—but it works for us.

We specialize in fresh, seasonal produce grown using sustainable practices:

🌱 Microgreens

Our microgreens are packed with flavor and nutrition—often containing up to 40x more nutrients than mature vegetables. Perfect for salads, sandwiches, and smoothies. 

🥕 Root Vegetables

From sweet, crunchy carrots to unique crops like kohlrabi and salad turnips, we grow a wide variety of nutrient-rich root vegetables. 

🥬 Seasonal Vegetables

We grow a rotating selection of fresh vegetables throughout the season, always focusing on flavor, quality, and environmental responsibility.
